This is an American black marble clock made by the Ansonia Clock Company, New York in about 1906.The marble case is in very good condition. The gilt engraving is all bright and clear and the dial and bezel are excellent. The clock is 30cm high and 27cm wide and being marble is quite heavy. The eight day movement has been fully overhauled, rebushed, runs well and keeps good time. The visible escapement is a nice feature, allowing the clock escapement to be seen working. The clock strikes the hours and the half hour on a gong. This clock presents well, has good proportions and is not too large, being a very good size for a shelf or mantel. Comes with instructions and correct double ended winding key.
