This larger size carriage clock is in a case with lots of character, good design work and is very well made. Very nice detail to the case and a lovely handle. French made about 1900. The case is 19cm high with the handle up and is 10cm across the base and has been polished and lacquered. All the glasses are bevelled and in top condition. The silvered dial has Roman numerals and is surrounded by a slightly more satin finish silvered mask. The overall effect is very pleasing.
The movement has been fully overhauled, including the silvered platform escapement and runs for a week, striking the hours and the half on a gong. The repeat button on top allows the previous hour to be struck, reminding you at 2am that it is still five hours to breakfast.
This clock comes with the correct size double ended winding key.
