This French carriage clock is in an attractive brass case with elegant handle and enamelled dial. It features columns on the corners, bevelled glass to all sides and the top and is in a lovely restored, polished and lacquered case. The clock is 19cm high with the handle up and is 10 cm wide.  This clock strikes the hour and the half hour on a gong and will repeat the previous hour when the repeat button on top is pressed. There is also the feature of an alarm with the setting dial shown on the front. The clock has a silvered platform escapement and an eight day movement all restored properly in our workshop, including new mainsprings. The backplate is marked in the lower left corner with the initials A.D. which is probably A. Dumas a well known French maker of carriage clocks from around 1900. The clock is of very good quality, is in top working order and keeps good time. Comes with a double ended key for winding and setting the hands.
