This is one of the French Industrial Series clocks made around 1890. These clocks were a celebration of Industrial progress of the time and have kept their popularity due to the quality of their manufacture and their unique place in horological design.
The boiler clock stands 34cm high and is 16cm wide and 16cm deep. It is all in original condition with no missing or damaged parts. The clock is made of heavy brass with patination to show industrial use and age. The clock movement is set into the firebox door, runs for about a week and utilises a platform escapement. Above the clock dial is a working aneroid barometer and the original mercury thermometer is on the left hand side. The somewhat whimsical design has pipework to the exterior and also has a non-rotating two ball governor on top.
