This French carriage clock dates from around 1890 and has a polished and lacquered case with all over finely incised engraving. The clock is 19cm high handle up and is 10cm wide and 9cm deep. This clock features an hour repeating mechanism and a sweep second hand. The eight day mechanism has been overhauled and strikes on the half and the hour on a bell.

The rack work and star wheel are located on the rear of the movement. This design was copied in recent times in Chinese copies of this style of carriage clock. This clock is not a Chinese copy. It is the real deal. There is also an alarm feature with the setting dial on the front and the alarm bell located under the base. The dial is perfect and the hands are all original. Correct size double ended key included.
